* A  feedback to the article of  Rebecca Reid for telegraph.co.uk, "Rita Ora's topless photos are a slap in the face for women everywhere".

FOR TITS’ SAKE!

Want to try topless pictures? Ask first Rebecca Reid if you got a good reason to do so...

Oh, Rebecca, Rebecca, Rebecca. You made me do something that I never thought I’d do. I’m going to write about women tits and topless photos.

I’ve spent my whole career writing about people’s lifestyle, their right to cook or, otherwise, to lead a career and eat fast food instead; I’ve compared garlic to antibiotic. In short, I never messed with tits, until I read your opinion on Rita Ora’s last bra-less photo shoot.

Ora was shot by snapper Terry Richardson and appears on the cover of Lui magazine, as she holds her shirt open to reveal her… well… you know. All I thought when I saw this picture, was: “Oh, baby, you will catch a cold”. As far as I write about health among other lifestyle issues, this was the first thought and the second one was: “What does she eat to have such a flat tummy? My readers would probably like to know”. I did not realize that one needs a good reason to go topless, till you came out with this idea.

Of course, Rita isn’t the only woman in show business who is fond of taking her top off.  And she's not the only woman to work with Richardson. Both Madonna and Miley Cyrus have posed for him in the past.

So, why should it be one rule for her, and another for Miley and Madonna?

Well, to start with when Madonna poses topless it’s for a reason. Everything Madonna has ever done has had a reason behind it. Kissing Britney Spears, dating much younger men – she did all this to become popular and that is a good reason, because that is her job. Despite Reid, I do not think that fighting ageism with this means is a value or a Nobel deserving attitude. As far as I write about lifestyle, I promote the healthy aging. I promote the rights of women and men to grow older and live each stage of life. I promote their possibility to enjoy fully each wrinkle because it has a story behind. I think that letting yourself grow old, becoming a grandma and so on, is as beautiful as feeling forever young. I do not criticize at all Madona for trying to be a girl forever, but as a journalist I have the great gift to choose what to promote. And I choose to promote nature. Kissing Britney and dating young men is not something that deserves a Nobel. It is simply a choice and as such should be respected, as well as the one to pose topless. Madonna has been a leader for women for decades, but this recent years Rita Ora has been an inspiration, pride and leader for Albanian women all over the world.

My Albanian colleagues of show biz and lifestyle made these recent years a big “noise” talking and writing about nudity manifestations and behaviors of Albanian pop stars, like the Albanian model Angela Martini, who went viral years ago for being underwear-less at CFDA Fashion Awards, or a few years ago, the Albanian pop singer, Bleona Qerreti, who showed too much skin at the American Music Awards, wearing a totally exposing black dress. A few months ago, social networks and pink media went crazy talking about the poetry of the Albanian writer, Rita Petro, entitled “The hole”, where she wrote, like never before, very explicitly about sex, using also “dirty” words. (I think “hate” is a much more dirty word than “pussy”, but this is just my approach to the vocabulary). And it was Rita’s turn after all these courageous Albanian women to make some fuss again, spreading the message that the women’s body belong totally to them, not to their men... fathers, brothers or husbands.

Unlike Miley and Madona, I'll defend Rita to the bitter end.

Cyrus’s nudity does not make that much sense. Cyrus emancipated herself from the corporation that owned, packaged and sold her childhood, by taking her clothes off. But all this has been so artificial. You cannot start a career as a nun, pack it like never existed, and then start over a career as Maria Magdalena. Well, yes, you can but it does not sound very appealing to me. Nothing wrong, for tits’ sake, just that Hannah Montana was such a strong character that I personally, never see a sexy and provocative Miley today, but a “drugged” ex-sweet Hannah Montana.

Madonna’s breasts are an (artificial) statement about the way that we view women and the aging process. Miley Cyrus’s breasts are a comment on the dissolution of childhood – which sees the process of growing not as organic and continuous; she likes to start over based nowhere. Like cutting a tree and separating it from the roots.

What about Rita Ora’s breasts? They’re NOT just breasts. She uses her nudity to shed light on a cause, an Albanian cause, to further the progress of women in everyday life. Probably many international readers do not know that nowadays many Albanian women are mistreated and even killed, just because sexuality is perceived like a taboo. In the very moment I was writing this article, today, February the 1rst, news talked about a father who murdered her 17 years old daughter. Our society is so masculine and has a fanatic approach toward sexuality and women rights. Many girls and women from Kosovo and Albania risk to be killed if they have a sexual exposure or even if they want to divorce. The same destiny for many other women in less developed countries, so popular women like Rita are welcomed to show as many tits as possible, to soften so the harsh reality and masculine attitude to woman’s body in less developed societies. More “scandals” today, less murders tomorrow. It is time for fanatic countries to change attitude toward sex. It is just sex, for tits’ sake, and often, women lose their lives just because they are, naturally, sexual beings. So, what do you think, is this a good reason to show the tits? Or, if it is not a good reason in UK, it is not a reason at all? Rita is followed by millions of fans all over the world and if what she does is not good for Britain’s, this does not mean it is not good at all...

Your words are powerful and your words are important, your words are beautiful and your words are yours. Wait, not really. Your words were not beautiful in the article concerning Rita’s tits. And of course, they’re not only yours, because they influence thousands of people. Even young ones, who just started to form their personality. So, Rebecca, for tits’ sake, put them to a better use than making show business women feel bitches groundlessly...
